Green is a color I like
Green is a color I like in a bike
To move and to circle and wheel and freestand
To lip and to squeal and gurgle and remand
We say, hey man let those green eyelids go
Let them go til they flow into rivers of roe
And green becomes orange and bluish-y black
And changes straight back into latent green cracks
Dipping out of the mud, carried through on a breeze
Letting go of the trees with a simple decree
And up on the counter where it grows into dust
So fine and moss-like that it binds with green rust
And forms in the foam an albino leaf
Frayed on the edges but perfectly brief
It disappears slowly, into thin air
Reminding of days past and Hollywood flare
And with it the magic of stories untold
Who sit in the dark growing dust and green mold
Until one day soon a young girl digs them up
Digs through the green dust and the buckets of duff
Sorts through them and finds the favorites we love
Posts them here and develops a labor of love
Sits down with her matcha and truffles and grins
And readies herself for some old-fashioned spins.
