This week FFK takes a break from the usual recipe & story post to bring you an assortment of unique recipes and poems in this handy ebook, free for subscribers (stay tuned for link), or available via $5 donation below to Julie’s ‘keep the lights on’ fund (that’s not an actual non-profit or anything, that’s just what I call my attempt to keep this thing kicking). Recipe treats include such winners as ‘pizza,’ ‘pรขtรฉ,’ ‘pumpkins squares,’ and other p-themed delectables, and beats run the gamut from old classics (‘t’was the night’ makes a reappearance) to random thought piece rhymes by yours truly (if that doesn’t sell you on this ebook I don’t know what will). Thanks in advance for checking it out, and as always, happy reading/cooking!

Hi Julie, Even though I subscribe I bought your book anyway because definitely want you to keep the lights on ๐ Still loving your stories and foods. And I’m sure you would get it when I tell you I tried to make Yook Gae Jang the other day (no chilli or soy of course) added umeboshi paste to try and get some colour) Keep doing what you do lovely lady.
Julie says
Wow, you made yook gae jang, awesome! That’s amazing, I haven’t attempted it myself yet…sounds like you could do your own installment in the Korean saga! ๐ And thanks so much for the support, it’s been a great motivator from the very beginning <3

Wooo, go Julie! I am so behind on your blog posts, but I will make up for my lack of reading by supporting the Keep the Lights on Fund. Also by catching up on your posts ๐
Julie says
Aw, thanks Nicole! You didn’t have to do that, but so nice of you! How’s the BC winter treating you? Seeing lots of good treats coming out of your kitchen!

I’m in partial hibernation some days, drinking many warm liquids, especially during the ice storm. P.S. Why was there an ice storm here. Isn’t this why we left the east coast?! ๐ By the way, I downloaded WhatsApp, but didn’t attempt to use it yet, but will be in touch soon. I’ll be in Vancouver for sure in early March, so hopefully I’ll see you then!
Julie says
Awesome! I should be around in early March ๐ Yeah I don’t know what’s up with this weather, it feels like my building is about to blow down.
